A pair of 18th century style cast silver-gilt four-light candelabra, after Paul de Lamerie C J Vander Ltd, London 1972 The detachable branch section with four leaf scroll arms issuing from below a knop with an octagonal finial, issuing from a central nozzle with spiral leaves and scrolls on a stippled ground, the tapering four sided stems with overhanging shell corners, incurved tapering sides with panels of overlapping graduated scales, lower knop with flower heads and plain bosses, all above a dome with shaped band of alternating spiral leaves and scales, rising from an octagonal base, the top engraved with diaper panels, the sides with shells, foliate scrolls and scales, height 44.5cm, weight 336oz.
