A hinged chess and backgammon board closing in the shape of a box "Eger", Baroque, wood with grooved and ebonised decoration "Military Trophies" and "Flowers", cover with panel of various carved, grooved and dyed woods "Battle of Vienna - 1683" back and interior with board markings in various woods with grooved decoration "Flowers" and "Obelisks and dolphins", iron mounts, Bohemia, C. 1700, wear on the ebonised, minor faults and defects. Notes: belonged to the Ernst Boehlen collection. This piece was part of the exhibition "Schach - Figuren und Spiele vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart" in the Bellerive Museum, Zurich, from the 15th of September to the 14th of November 1982, and is reproduced as number 17 in its catalogue. According to given information it was part of another exhibition in Dresden Bank, Frankfurt, in 1988, and is reproduced as number 9 in page 25 of the catalogue. Vd. similar board in "O Xadrez e o Cérebro - Arte e Ciência". Lisbon: Franco Maria Ricci - Champalimaud Foundation, 2021, pp. 67-70.
